Aloun Farms Pumpkin Patch Festival

Every weekend in October, starting 10/15 through 10/30
Volunteers needed on Sunday, 10/30 for both shifts:
Shift 1: 8 am - 12 noon
Shift 2: 12 noon - 4 pm
Saturdays & Sundays

Get into the Fall groove by being a Hawaii Foodbank representative at the Aloun Farms Pumpkin Patch Festival. You will cheerfully greet and welcome guests, accept food donations and distribute a mini pumpkins to those that bring food donations. The shifts will be from 8 am – 12 noon, or 12 noon - 4 pm each Saturday & Sunday from October 15 thru 30. Sign-up and register early for your desired dates and shifts.

This is a fun-filled family activity. As a Hawaii Foodbank volunteer you will get a t-shirt to wear during your shift(s). You’ll also be stationed in a nice room at the entrance of the event. Visit the Aloun Farms Pumpkin Festival webpage where you can learn more: HERE

Check-Out Hunger

Food Safety Inspector

Various HFB Agencies
by arrangement with Agency Relations Director.
Volunteers needed immediately: 2 - 3
Volunteer Duties: Using your own vehicle, travel to member agencies to inspect & ensure that food safety standards are met. Take notes of findings and input into database. Training is provided and reimbursement for travel is available.
Service Time: Weekly 10-20 hr. flexible schedule, weekdays between 8 a.m. & 4 p.m.
Attire: Covered shoes, comfortable clothing

Volunteer Accountant

Volunteer Accountant

Students welcome
by arrangement with Finance Director
Volunteers needed: 2 - 3
Volunteer Duties: Assist Accounting & Finance staff with regular duties and special projects. This may include working with spreadsheets, word processor and Foodbank proprietary software. Project may include updating worksheets for budgets, reports, annual audits, etc.
Service time: 3-4 hrs. per week, weekday, normal business hours, flexible.
Attire: Casual, business.

Volunteer Dry Salvage

Dry Salvage Food Sorters

Hawaii Foodbank Warehouse by arrangement with Volunteer Coordinator.
Volunteers needed: Groups of 8 - 10, Must be 18+ years old
Duties: Inspect & sort dry food donations
Service time: Weekdays, 8 am - 12 pm
Attire: Covered shoes, comfortable clothing
Registration deadline: ongoing

Commodity Supplemental Food Program CSFP - Senior Food Box Packing

Saturday, October 29
Volunteers Needed: 80 per activity date. Must be able to stand for duration and perform repetitive movement & lifting. Minimum age to volunteer is 16 years old accompanied by adult.
Volunteer Duties: Help pack 2,400 “healthier choice” food boxes for our Oahu senior citizens.
Service Time: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Attire: Covered shoes, comfortable clothing, and sun protection.

Development Special Projects

Hawaii Foodbank Warehouse by arrangement with Volunteer Coordinator
Volunteers needed: Varies by project
Minimum age to volunteers is 16, accompanied by an adult
Volunteer duties: Assist our Development team by lending a hand with a variety of administrative projects, such as making artwork, signs, display stands & greeting cards - depending on HFB event needs
Service time: Weekdays between 8 am - 4 pm, depending on the project duration and group availability
Attire: Covered shoes, comfortable clothing

Volunteer Trolley Elves

Ward Village Trolley Elves

December 4 - 30
Volunteers needed: 2 - 8 per night, Families & students welcome
Duties: Our Trolley Elves welcome riders and create an atmosphere of Holiday cheer by taking photos, passing out coupons & goodies, and escorting riders on & off the trolley
Service time: 6 - 9 pm nightly
Attire: Elf hats, reindeer antlers, Rudolph noses and other holiday fashion accessories amp up the family-fun, but are not mandatory.
Registration deadline:  Activities will close once capacity is reached

Step 3: Schedule an Interview & Orientation Tour

Please make an appointment or call our Volunteer Coordinator for more info. at (808) 954-7869. The Interview & Orientation Tour will take about 45 minutes and may include a training video, in addition to a "try-it'on" period where you work in the department to see if it is a good fit.
