September 18-October 3, 2010: Voting for the People’s Choice Award
Sunday, October 3, 2010: DeCanstruction and Award Ceremony
Join the American Institute of Architects, (AIA) Honolulu Chapter at this year’s annual Canstruction® competition “Kids Can!”. Local teams comprised of design and construction industry professionals will build giant three-dimensional structures entirely from cans of food.
Teams will compete for the following awards: Juror’s Favorite, Structural Ingenuity, Best Use of Labels, Best Meal and Most Pounds Donated. Event sponsors, Pearlridge Center and AIA Honolulu are joined by HonBlue and C & S Wholesale Grocers to make this event possible.
We need your vote! Visit Pearlridge Center, Uptown from September 18-October 3 and vote for your favorite structures. One can equals one vote, so vote as often as you can. The structure with the most votes will win the “People’s Choice Award” and will be announced on October 3 at the award ceremony. All foods used to build the structures and all cans used to vote will be donated to the Hawaii Foodbank. Canstruction® in Hawaii has collected over 160,000 pounds of food to help feed Hawaii’s hungry!
You CAN make a difference!
