HUNGER STUDY: More than 190 food banks across the country are gearing up for the Hunger Stufy client data collection. Hunger in America is the largest volunteer-driven research study in the nation, and we need your help! If you are interested in making an impact, contact us at info@hawaiifoodbank.org with your name and contact information.
SALVAGE/DONATION SORTING: Volunteers are needed to sort food donations. The Hawaii Foodbank depends on volunteers to check and sort donations from businesses and the community. Volunteers and food donations are vital to the operation of the Hawaii Foodbank. This is a great opportunity for groups to get together and make a difference. Monday through Friday mornings 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
PRODUCE SORTING: Produce Volunteers provide an invaluable service making available quality nutrition to Hawaii ’s hungry. Work involves inspection, cleaning, sorting and boxing of produce and perishable items for distribution to our member agencies in the community. Volunteers are needed for immediate help in this department Monday through Friday ranging from 7:00 am - Noon.
WHATEVER SQUAD: Volunteers work with our Development Department with varying schedules. This squad does whatever it takes, whenever we need it, perfect for the individual who just wants to drop in. This does require no less than a 2 hour committment at a time.
SPECIAL EVENTS: Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older (depending on the event). Assistance is needed prior to and during major events throughout the year. Scheduling and duties will be coordinated through the Volunteer Facilitator.
FOOD DRIVE: The Annual Food Drive is the Hawaii Foodbank’s largest fundraiser for both canned goods and monetary donations. The core of our mission at the Hawaii Foodbank is to ensure that no one in our ohana goes hungry. As a volunteer you will be able to have your choice of eight locations with the shift of your choice: Waterfront Plaza, Koko Marina Shopping Center, Waiokeola Congregational Church in Kahala, McCully Shopping Center, Town Center of Mililani, Pearl Highlands Center/Pearl City Shopping Center, Windward City Shopping Center and Waianae Mall Shopping Center. This is an opportunity for you to make a contribution – YOUR WAY!
