Donate Monthly — Fight Hunger Hui
Partner with Hawaiʻi Foodbank by Making an Ongoing Gift
As a monthly donor, you will be welcomed into Hawaiʻi Foodbank’s Fight Hunger Hui — a dedicated group of donors who make recurring gifts. This consistent source of support to Hawaiʻi Foodbank enables us to reduce our costs of mailing and postage. Moreover, recurring gifts allow us to focus more resources on programs and less on raising the necessary funds.
Why Donate Monthly?
A monthly donation of $10 helps provide food for more than 250 meals throughout the entire year. Our food bank model enables 93% of all expenses to be used to support people in our communities who are in need of food assistance.
Benefits
In addition to providing consistent support and important nourishment to our families and neighbors facing hunger, Fight Hunger Hui benefits also include:
- Automatic and convenient monthly donations via credit card or EFT
- Annual statements at the beginning of the year for easy tax preparation
- A quarterly newsletter with updates
- Flexibility to update, change or pause your monthly donation at any time
- Exclusive volunteer opportunities
- Invitations to events to learn more about our work in the community

Planned Giving — John White Legacy
John White founded Hawaiʻi Foodbank in 1983, and he created a lasting legacy that continues to positively impact our communities today. Your legacy can change lives, too. By making a planned gift, you will join our special group of John White Legacy donors. Planned giving can come with great personal and financial benefits while making a lasting impact on our work. When you include a bequest to Hawaiʻi Foodbank in your estate plan, your generosity will help ensure every member of our ʻohana has fair access to safe and healthy food for years to come.

Donor Advised Funds
A donor advised fund (DAF) is like a charitable savings account, which gives you the ability to make philanthropic gifts over time while receiving an immediate tax benefit. Donor Advised Funds (DAF) offer a tax-efficient way to support Hawaiʻi Foodbank’s mission while maximizing your charitable impact. If you have a DAF account with providers like Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable or other sponsoring organizations, you can easily recommend a grant to support our work nourishing families across Hawaiʻi. DAF grants help us plan strategically while providing the flexibility to respond to urgent community needs throughout the year.

Gifts of Stock
Donating appreciated stocks, bonds or mutual funds to Hawaiʻi Foodbank offers significant tax advantages while maximizing your charitable impact. By giving securities that have increased in value, you avoid capital gains taxes while receiving a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the gift. This means more of your generosity directly supports our mission to nourish our ʻohana while potentially reducing your overall tax burden. Stock gifts help fund critical programs like Food 4 Keiki, Kūpuna Fresh and ʻOhana Produce Plus — creating lasting impact in our community. Our development team will work with you and your financial advisor to ensure a smooth transfer process and provide proper documentation for your tax records.
